The HR Assistant will help to advance the organization’s strategic goals by embracing the mission, vision, and values of WINS. Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the HR Assistant is responsible for assisting with day to day operations of the HR functions, providing clerical and administrative support to Human Resources team and compiling and updating employee records.
This position requires someone to be reliable and accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask and acclimatize to a fast-paced environment.
Eligibility Requirements:

Be legally eligible to work in Canada* in accordance with relevant provincial legislation/regulations

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

Be available to start work immediately - ideally by June 15, 2026
Hours of Work:
Applicants must be available to work full-time (32 hours per week) for 8 consecutive weeks, Monday to Friday
Wage:
$16.00 per hour
Responsibilities:

Foster a positive workplace and team environment through open communication

Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties

Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resource Generalist and HR & Volunteer Manager

Compile and update employee records (paper and electronic copies)

Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, performance evaluations etc)

Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews

Provide assistance with candidate pre-screenings

Assist with performance management procedures.

Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs

Assist in planning employee appreciation events

Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education:
-
Pursuing a Degree in Business, Human Resources or similar field is an asset
Experience:
-
At least one year of previous work experience in similar role
-
Previous experience in an office environment is an asset
