Reports To: Health Services Manager / Clinic Director
Job Summary:
A Nutrition Consultant provides expert advice on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications to help clients achieve their health and wellness goals. They assess nutritional needs, develop personalized nutrition plans, educate clients on dietary choices, and monitor progress to improve overall health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, including dietary habits, medical history, and lifestyle factors.
- Develop individualized nutrition and meal plans based on client needs and goals.
- Educate clients on nutrition, healthy eating, weight management, and disease prevention.
- Provide counseling and ongoing support to encourage positive dietary changes.
- Monitor client progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed.
- Interpret nutritional data, laboratory results, and health assessments.
- Stay current with evidence-based nutrition research and dietary guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, fitness specialists, and caregivers when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Conduct workshops, seminars, or community outreach programs on nutrition and wellness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Public Health, or a related field.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) certification preferred (depending on jurisdiction).
- Relevant experience in nutrition counseling, wellness coaching, or healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of nutrition science, dietary guidelines, and behavior change strategies.
- Proficiency in nutrition assessment tools and record-keeping software.
