Blacktop Asphalt Paving is seeking a reliable and experienced Skid Steer Operator to join our grading and site development team for the spring, summer, and fall construction seasons. This position plays a key role in preparing residential and commercial projects for paving, excavation, and site development.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate skid steer equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Perform grading, leveling, backfilling, and material placement.
- Assist with site preparation for asphalt paving projects.
- Load, move, and stockpile gravel, soil, asphalt millings, and other materials.
- Work alongside excavation and paving crews to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices.
- Assist with general labour duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of skid steer operating experience.
- Experience in grading, excavation, site preparation, or asphalt construction preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to read grades and work from site plans is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of equipment operation and job site safety.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
