POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our Production team and operate our Folder/Gluer. This position involves operating a Moll Regal folder/gluer machine, or other machines like it, used to produce high-quality vinyl record jackets. The operator will be responsible for machine setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure accurate folding and gluing according to production specifications.
This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining consistent product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. When machines are not in operation, the operator will assist with related production tasks to support team goals and overall efficiency.
This position operates on our 2nd shift, 3pm to 11pm Monday to Friday with mandatory overtime as required to support business demands.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate the Moll Regal folder/gluer to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Review job tickets to determine specifications, materials, and folding/gluing requirements.
- Monitor product quality throughout each run and make precise adjustments to maintain alignment, adhesion, and appearance standards.
- Ensure all folding and gluing operations meet dimensional and aesthetic tolerances.
- Perform daily and scheduled maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of the machine.
- Complete accurate production records and communicate issues promptly to supervisors.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while operating or maintaining equipment.
- Support other production areas as needed during downtime or changeovers.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical and operational skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet production goals.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods during production shifts.
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and material handling throughout the workday.
- Regular lifting, pushing, or pulling of materials and finished products (up to 50 lbs).
- Manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination to operate, adjust, and maintain equipment.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders to access equipment or storage areas as needed.
- Visual acuity for quality inspection of folds, glue application, and product alignment.
- Tolerance for working around moving machinery, noise, and adhesives with appropriate PPE.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a Moll Regal folder/gluer, or equivalent folding/gluing machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proven troubleshooting skills.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and product quality.
- Familiarity with folding carton production environments is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret job orders, specifications, and basic technical documents.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks in a production environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow safety protocols consistently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to take direction from supervisors and collaborate with colleagues.
- Willingness to participate in training and ongoing skill development.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as production needs require.
