Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscape Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes, ensuring the health and aesthetic appeal of various properties. This role requires hands-on experience with gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance, along with mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain equipment. The Landscape Technician will play a vital role in delivering high-quality landscape services through efficient and safe practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to ensure vibrant and healthy outdoor spaces
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for site preparation and construction projects
- Install and repair irrigation systems to promote optimal plant growth and water efficiency
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to carry out various landscaping activities
- Conduct routine maintenance of equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning
- Assist with construction projects such as retaining walls, pathways, or other landscape features
- Apply horticultural principles to improve soil health and plant vitality
- Follow safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents or injuries
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet client expectations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or horticulture is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating and maintaining landscape equipment such as excavators and irrigation systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction-related equipment
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques including pruning, planting, and soil management
- Strong understanding of horticultural practices to support plant health and growth
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for equipment operation or site travel purposes
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
