Canadian Door Automation Inc. is seeking a full-time Automatic Door Technician to help support our growing business. For over 25 years we have supplied, installed, serviced & repaired pedestrian automatic doors and related barrier-free accessories.
The ideal candidate would be a skilled tradesperson who can work independently in the field and possesses excellent time management skills. Previous experience in mechanics, electronics, glazing, carpentry or locksmithing is considered an asset. Preference given to applicants who have experience in all makes & models of automatic pedestrian doors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB DUTIES
- Execute installations
- Perform service on automatic door operators, automatic sliding doors, manual, mechanical swing doors & all related accessories
- Time Management
- Customer Service
KEY COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- Proficient in operating hand and power tools
- Can absorb our thorough training quickly and efficiently to become an independent technician with the use of a company vehicle
- Be able to work cooperatively and communicate well in both written and oral capacities
- Have a good mechanical ability and know how to read and understand written installation instructions
- Able to replace electro-mechanical parts and devices
- Understand basic low voltage electrical wiring drawings and logic relays
- A minimum lifting requirement of 75 lbs on a regular basis is to be expected and it is understood that all candidates are capable of this regular lifting.
- Professionalism
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in one or more of the following areas: electronics, mechanical, glazing, locksmith, carpentry
- Excellent written & verbal skills
- Must be able to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Self-motivated
- Must have G license & clean driving record.
