FabHR is currently looking for a motivated engineering assistant to support operations for one of it’s manufacturing clients based in Ottawa, Ontario. This role involves equipment operation, maintenance, and order processing to ensure efficient production and accurate customer fulfillment.
Key responsibilities:
· Operate and monitor the robotic production system to ensure efficient, accurate output
· Perform routine troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on gasket equipment to minimize downtime
· Accurately enter customer purchase orders and send order confirmations in a timely manner
· Maintain and update plant procedures and policies as required
· Generate and complete production nests to optimize material usage and production efficiency
· Review production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
· Maintain accurate production and maintenance records
· Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
· Maintain ISO documentation
Qualifications:
· Diploma or certificate in mechanical engineering technology, manufacturing engineering, or a related field (required)
· Hands-on experience using a variety of tools, including hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
· Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an asset
· Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
· Familiarity with CAD/CAM or nesting software (preferred)
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced independent environment
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Working Conditions:
· Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to machinery and noise
· Standing, walking, and moderate lifting required
· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
