Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Dispatcher to oversee transportation operations within our supply chain network. This pivotal role involves coordinating freight movements, managing shipping and receiving processes, and ensuring efficient delivery schedules. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with transportation management systems, and the ability to analyze logistical data to optimize workflows. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic logistics team in a fast-paced environment, supporting seamless supply chain operations across third-party logistics (3PL) providers and internal departments.
Duties
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as SyteLine and AS400.
- Manage shipping & receiving activities, ensuring timely processing of goods in accordance with company policies.
- Utilize multi-line phone systems and maintain professional phone etiquette to communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Enter data accurately into relevant systems, including freight details, shipment statuses, and inventory updates.
- Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements for cost savings and service enhancements.
- Oversee 3PL providers to ensure compliance with delivery schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor freight movements, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate alternative solutions as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, deliveries, and related documentation for audit purposes.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff on shipping & receiving schedules and inventory management.
- Support the implementation of new transportation management tools or procedures to improve overall logistics operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with transportation management systems such as SyteLine, AS400, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight operations, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data for operational improvements.
- Proficiency in data entry, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems efficiently.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Experience working within 3PL environments is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and scheduling.
This role is integral to maintaining efficient logistics operations that support our company's growth objectives while ensuring excellent service delivery across all transportation activities.
Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
