Our client is a
growth-focused company headquartered in downtown Vancouver. This
multi-national and publicly listed organization is steadily expanding and maintaining a long-standing reputation for doing things the right way... strategically, ethically, and with a focus on long-term success. The Vancouver head office is home to around 40 corporate staff, with operations that span Canada and the U.S. The culture is down-to-earth, friendly, and professional, with little room for big egos or high drama.

newly created position, based on growth and business needs- our client is getting to be of a size and complexity that it is time to start bringing more of the tax function in-house, rather than relying mostly on external consultants. The Tax Manager will be able to make a positive impact and demonstrate their value in the short, medium, and long-term. There are many tax credits that the company can apply for in Canada and the US. The Tax Manager will work internally with the finance team and externally with various tax consultants (a couple Big 4 firms, an independent practitioner, a consultant at a partner company, etc.). This role involves a lot of relationship building, collaboration, and stakeholder management. This is an individual contributor position, and truly at Manager level given this will the top and sole person in the company dedicated entirely to the tax function. Given the company’s growth plans in the coming years, there is a chance that a tax team will develop in the future based on work volume and business needs
