Position Summary
The Marketing/SL Coordinator supports the execution of marketing initiatives, community outreach, on-site events and specialty leasing programs. Goal is to drive traffic, increase sales and enhance the shopping centre’s presence in the community. This role is hands-on, highly organized and community-facing, with a strong focus on coordination, administration and local execution.
Key Responsibilities
Special Events & Exhibits
- Coordinate the execution of mall events, exhibits and seasonal activations to increase foot traffic, under supervision of Marketing
- Support the implementation of shared marketing programs at the local level
- Liaise with vendors, tenants and internal teams to ensure smooth event execution
- Organize and arrange community events, organizing all correct documentation and event coordination with the shopping centre
- Support gift card program administration and promotion
- Budgeting ownership, performance tracking, and sponsorship integration
Market Intelligence
- Monitor local economic conditions, retail trends and competitive shopping centres
- Track new retail developments and other factors impacting centre performance
- Provide actionable insights with connection to decision-making and reporting to support marketing and leasing strategies
Social Media & Digital Marketing
- Coordinate day-to-day activity across social media channels, including posting local content and responding to inquiries
- Maintain and update website content, including:
- New store openings and closures
- Retailer promotions
- Mall events and campaigns
- Support digital campaigns and local marketing initiatives
- Content planning, brand voice, and performance tracking
Post-Event Analysis & Sponsorship Support
- Prepare sponsor fulfillment reports outlining exposure, value and benefits delivered with a strong emphasis on ROI
- Support relationship-building to encourage repeat sponsorships and partnerships and manage sponsor lifecycle
Retailer & Community Relations
- Build strong working relationships with retailers to support store promotions and initiatives aligned to increased sales performance
- Meet quarterly with tenants to understand their needs and identify partnership opportunities
- Proactively engage with community groups, business organizations and non-profits to position the centre as a community leader
- Support public relations initiatives that generate positive local awareness
Specialty Leasing Support
- Work closely with Specialty Leasing to identify sponsorship and revenue opportunities tied to paid events and activations including social media exposure, digital listings, and on-site signage
- Assist with administrative and marketing support for Specialty Leasing programs
- Help coordinate temporary tenants, pop-ups and promotional kiosks as required
- Assist in sourcing and prospecting potential specialty tenants through local outreach, events, and community connections
- Support visual merchandising standards by ensuring specialty leasing carts and kiosks align with centre aesthetics and branding guidelines
- Act as a point of contact for specialty tenants for day-to-day inquiries, issue resolution, and relationship management
- Assist with integrating specialty leasing into centre events, sponsorships, and seasonal activations to maximize exposure and revenue
Administration & Reporting
- Provide administrative support including scheduling, documentation, reporting, and coordination
- Assist with tracking marketing initiatives, sponsorships and promotions
- Support budgeting, invoicing, and internal reporting as required
Other Duties
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 1 years of relevant retail, marketing, or community-focused experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Comfort with social media platforms, content management systems, and basic digital tools

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
