What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the general condition of the property in all aspects with an emphasis on general repairs. The successful candidate will maintain a professional and pleasant attitude and provide excellent customer service to ensure guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will promptly complete maintenance request work orders from all departments and participate in the hotel’s digital preventive maintenance program.
Job Duties:

Perform all general facility maintenance under supervision in a manner which ensures the preservation of optimum quality and efficient production.

Day-to-day maintenance to oversee the upkeep of the hotel property such as changing light bulbs, electrical switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, and paint.

Follow preventative maintenance schedules and upgrades as necessary for the building's electrical and mechanical systems, energy management systems, fire and safety, grounds, parking, public spaces, and amenities.

Maintain all guest rooms in accordance with the property room preventative maintenance procedures and guidelines/checklists.

Perform minor repairs such as patching drywall, plumbing, painting, replacing batteries or fuses etc.

Interact with Guests and Staff in a positive and helpful manner.

Routine maintenance on air handling units (HVAC).

Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.

Be competent in the checking, cleaning, and recording of all duties related to the safe and hygienic upkeep of the pool observing safe working practices in relation to the use/storage of chemicals as required by company policy and health & safety regulations.

Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).

Dispose of garbage in accordance with property policy.

Carry out assigned duties as part of the Preventive Maintenance Schedule achieving standards required by the company.

Carry out maintenance duties allocated daily in accordance with departmental requirements contributing to the smooth running of departments and achieving guest satisfaction.

Liaise closely with the direct supervisor regarding the completion of work to minimize “out of order” rooms and contribute to the overall profitability of the property.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

On-call and after-hours work as required.
What You Need:
-
Must have at least 2 years of general mechanical/maintenance experience.

Must have a valid British Columbia drivers’ license with a clean driving abstract.

Must be able to work a variety of shifts including, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Valid British Columbia Pool Operators Course is an asset.

Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and electrical is an asset.

Intermediate computer knowledge is an asset.

Must have knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.

Must have familiarity with WHMIS standards, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) etc.

Must be thorough and detail oriented.

Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

Must have excellent time management skills with the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Must have the ability to perform the essential duties of the position as well as other jobs assigned.

Must be a good team player and assist other departments when needed.

Must have a demonstrated pattern of good attendance.
