We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator / Infant Toddler Educator (ECE/IT) to join our team.
Job Summary
The Early Childhood Educator / Infant Toddler Educator is responsible for providing quality care and education for infants and toddlers in accordance with the Child Care Licensing Regulation of British Columbia. The successful candidate will create a responsive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports each child's physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and language development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support children's learning and development.
- Provide responsive care, including feeding, diapering, toileting, sleep routines, and daily transitions.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children feel secure and supported.
- Observe, document, and assess children's development and maintain accurate records.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Support children's social-emotional development using positive guidance techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in accordance with licensing, health, and safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure consistent routines and high-quality programming.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Follow all centre policies, procedures, and provincial licensing regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate with Infant Toddler Educator (IT) Certification (Experience working in a licensed Infant and Toddler childcare program and have started or being willing to start the Infant and Toddler program can be considered)
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate acceptable for licensed childcare in BC
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check for working with children
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills
