Position Overview
As a Vehicle Detail Technician at Dean Cooley GM, you will be responsible for cleaning, detailing, and preparing vehicles to meet dealership standards for presentation and delivery. Working as part of a four-man team, you will contribute to an efficient workflow, helping ensure vehicles are completed on schedule and to a high standard of quality. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in the finished product, and works well in a team-oriented environment. In addition to vehicle detailing, you may also assist with general shop organization and facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
Perform thorough cleaning and detailing of vehicle interiors and exteriors, including washing, waxing, vacuuming, polishing, shampooing, and cleaning windows.
Prepare new, used, and customer vehicles for display, delivery, or return to owners.
Work closely with the other members of the detailing team to prioritize jobs and meet daily deadlines.
Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and presentation, identifying any areas requiring additional attention.
Apply protective treatments and finishing products as required.
Maintain detailing equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Follow all dealership safety procedures when using chemicals, tools, and equipment.
Support the sales and service departments by ensuring vehicles are completed in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with shop cleaning, sweeping, garbage removal, and other general housekeeping duties.
Help with waste management, including breaking down boxes and disposing of recyclables and packaging materials.
Complete other tasks as assigned to support dealership operations and maintain a clean, professional facility.
Qualifications
Previous vehicle detailing experience is an asset, but not required; training may be provided for the right candidate.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
Good time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with detailing tools, products, and cleaning techniques is an asset.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physically capable of bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
