OPERATOR DRIVER Circular No. 2026-03 Internal/External
The Town of Gillam invites applications for one (1) FULL-TIME OPERATOR DRIVER in the Public Works Department.
Responsibilities:
· Operate and maintain heavy equipment in all seasons
· Operate and maintain simple power tools, hand tools and equipment
· Develop, maintain and follow job procedures and safe work procedures
· Assist other employees as directed
· Work with other employees as a team
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Must possess a Class 1 license
· Certification as a heavy equipment operator is considered an asset
· Considerable knowledge of heavy-duty equipment operating principles; working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operators
· Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment is preferred
· Ability to work independently
· Excellent communication skills
· Team player
· Overtime and duty operator standby will be required
Wages & Benefits:
· Wage scale per IBEW 2034 Collective Bargaining agreement starting at $29.73/hr.
