Reports to: Sanitation Manager
Responsibilities:

Oversees daily sanitation activities within the facility to ensure all equipment, production areas, and common spaces meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Coordinate and train sanitation staff, execute sanitation schedules, verify proper cleaning procedures, and support the Sanitation Manager in maintaining a safe and compliant environment.

Execute daily and weekly sanitation schedules, including equipment teardown, cleaning, and reassembly.

Ensure all cleaning and sanitizing activities meet company standards, as well as FDA, USDA, SQF, BRC, or other applicable regulatory requirements.

Inspect work areas after cleaning to verify effectiveness and correct any deficiencies.

Monitor chemical usage, dilution concentrations, and proper handling procedures.

Maintain sanitation logs, checklists, and documentation for audits and internal reviews.

Train new and existing sanitation team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Assign tasks and coordinate workflow to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Technical or food safety training preferred.

Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and food safety regulations is required.

Detailed knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.

Ability to read and understand SDS sheets, sanitation procedures, and chemical instructions.

Basic computer proficiency (email, logs, digital checklists).

Ability to lead, motivate, and train a diverse workforce.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).

Know and meet the requirements under the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
