RLS Contracting Limited is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Site Superintendent to oversee civil construction projects throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality and surrounding areas. We are looking for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, leads by example, and keeps projects running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations from project start to completion.
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist with project planning.
- Maintain daily site reports, production records, and material tracking.
- Conduct site meetings with clients, consultants, and project managers.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.
- Identify and resolve issues before they impact schedule or budget.
- Assist with estimating and pursuing new project opportunities when required.
- Occasionally work alongside crews to support productivity.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising civil construction projects.
- Experience with asphalt, concrete, excavation, grading, underground services, and site development.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read plans and construction specifications.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience operating civil construction equipment is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.

Typical Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (hours may vary depending on project requirements).

Experience:
- supervising civil construction projects: 5 years (preferred)
