ACUMEN HEALTH DIRECTOR
Department: Leadership / Operations / Clinical Strategy
Reports To: CEO / Executive Leadership Team
Oversees: Medical Staff / Biz Dev / Surgical Coordination
Location / Work Model: Hybrid / Multi-site / Travel as Required
**While this role is posted under our Edmonton headquarters, we are open to considering candidates from our other Acumen locations. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to work from another Acumen office location. **
1. Role Summary
The Acumen Health Director is responsible for overseeing the operational, clinical, and strategic success of assigned regions, clinics, or service lines. This role ensures alignment between patient care, team performance, operational efficiency, and organizational growth. The Director serves as a key leader in driving consistency, accountability, and execution while supporting a high-performance culture across Acumen Health.
2. Key Responsibilities1. Enterprise Leadership & Organizational Alignment
- Act as a senior operational leader, directly supporting and reporting to the Executive Team (CEO and C-suite)
- Translate enterprise strategy into clear, executable priorities across regions, clinics, and service lines
- Provide leadership oversight to Directors and Managers, ensuring alignment, accountability, and consistent performance delivery
- Foster a high-performance, outcomes-driven culture centered on ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Develop leadership capacity through coaching, mentorship, and succession planning
2. Operational Performance & Execution
- Provide executive oversight of multi-site clinic operations, ensuring efficient, scalable, and patient-centered delivery
- Drive performance across key operational metrics including utilization, access, patient flow, and resource alignment
- Lead system-level improvements to optimize workflows, capacity, and overall operational effectiveness
- Ensure consistent execution of operational priorities across all locations and teams
- Deliver clear, data-informed insights and recommendations to the C-suite to support decision-making
3. Strategic Execution & Growth Enablement
- Partner with the C-suite to operationalize growth strategy across new markets, services, and partnerships
- Lead operational planning and readiness for new clinic launches, program expansions, and service line growth
- Support business development initiatives through operational input, execution planning, and integration support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, partners, and key stakeholders to enable scalable growth
- Contribute to enterprise planning with forward-looking operational insight and execution strategies

- Drive cross-functional alignment to improve efficiency, communication, and execution across the organization
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations and enhance overall organizational performance

6. Required QualificationsEducation
- Post-secondary education in healthcare, rehabilitation, business, leadership, or related field
Experience
- Leadership or management experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, or service-based industries preferred
- Experience leading interdisciplinary teams considered an asset
- Strong understanding of patient-centered care and operational systems
Preferred Background
- Experience in multi-site operations
- Knowledge of occupational rehabilitation, orthopedics, disability management, or healthcare systems
