Title: Repair Technician 1
Location: 755 Wallace Road, North Bay, ON; On-site
Shift time: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Position Summary
The Repair Technician 1 independently diagnoses and repairs devices as a primary responsibility, while also providing onsite support for local IT equipment, end-user troubleshooting, and equipment setup activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, accurate documentation, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize tasks and escalate issues as needed to maintain quality and service standards.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on supported devices with minimal supervision.

Perform component replacements, operating system installation/configuration, setup, and final testing.

Analyze system logs, work order history, and device behavior to make informed repair decisions.

Provide onsite support for local IT initiatives, including basic troubleshooting of desktops, printers, and end‑user equipment.

Support equipment setup and moves, including configuring printers and desktops in new or reconfigured areas.

Create, monitor, and update IT service tickets as required, support internal IT requests, and coordinate with internal team members to ensure timely resolution.

Maintain accurate documentation, including service notes, asset inventories, equipment locations, network configuration records, and detailed failure records.

Communicate findings, status updates, and priorities clearly across channels, while collaborating on escalations, supporting team members, and adhering to QMS and audit requirements.
Qualifications

Post-secondary education or equivalent.

1–2 years of repair and/or IT support experience, or demonstrated internal progression from Repair Technician.
Job Knowledge and Skills

Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, printers, desktops, and related peripherals.

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Excel, Outlook, and service/documentation tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels.

Demonstrated attention to detail and strong documentation habits.

Ability to organize workload, manage competing priorities, work independently, and escalate issues appropriately.

Ability to work cooperatively with onsite stakeholders and peers in a fast-paced environment.
