Job Title: Network Administrator (RDL - Research and Development Lab)

Job Overview
The Engineering team is seeking an experienced RDL (Research Development Lab) Network Administrator to support secure network segmentation and connectivity within highly controlled engineering lab environments.
This role is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining isolated lab network environments, including VLAN provisioning, firewall configurations, NAC enforcement, and SD-WAN connectivity. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in enterprise networking and security controls, with experience supporting complex R&D or engineering lab infrastructures.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage project-specific and classification-specific VLANs for R&D lab environments
- Configure and maintain:
- Switching and routing
- Firewall rules and segmentation policies
- SD-WAN interconnectivity
- Enforce Network Access Control (NAC) policies using ClearPass or similar technologies
- Support onboarding and secure access controls for lab users and devices
- Ensure strict network isolation to prevent unintended data exposure or leakage
- Collaborate with Site IT and Global Infrastructure teams to align network provisioning standards
- Support critical network change requests and troubleshoot connectivity issues within isolated environments
- Maintain documentation related to network architecture, segmentation, and security controls
- Participate in infrastructure and security reviews to improve operational efficiency and reduce turnaround times
Qualifications Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Enterprise networking (switching/routing)
- VLAN provisioning and segmentation
- Firewall configuration and policy management
- SD-WAN technologies
- Experience with NAC solutions, preferably ClearPass
- Strong understanding of network isolation and security controls
- Experience supporting complex lab, engineering, or R&D network environments
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and access issues
- Strong collaboration and documentation skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in manufacturing, hardware engineering, or high-performance systems environments
- Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance frameworks
- Experience supporting highly regulated or classified network environments
- Knowledge of automation or infrastructure-as-code for network provisioning
