Yard Labourer (Temp Position)
Location: FM Recycling
Pay: $19 - $20 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM every other Saturday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Duration: Temporary position - 3 months (Aug-Oct), potential for longer term employment.
FM Recycling is Orillia’s industry-leading scrap metal service. Serving the local community and surroundings since 1997. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Yardhand/Labourer to join our team! This is a great entry-level opportunity; previous experience is an asset. You will be responsible for customer service, traffic direction within our property, maintaining and assisting in the yard cleanliness and daily operations, as well as depolluting vehicles for recycling.
Responsibilities
- Customer service - assisting customers offloading, directing traffic, answering questions regarding proper recycling procedures and scrap classifications.
- Follow all safety protocols and proper loading/lifting procedures.
- Drain fluids from vehicles to prepare for shipping
- Picking and sorting non-conforming items from piles to their respective locations.
- Dismantling larger material for proper processing.
- Ensure equipment, facilities and workstations are in good working order.
- Assisting in small repairs and maintenance when required.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Steel-toed boots are required.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions. (inside and outside)
- Strong attention to detail and good physical stamina.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Previous Heavy Equipment experience is an asset.
