COMMUNITY RESOURCE WORKER 1 for PALACE and NADOTHAN
(1 part-time, female only, permanent position available)
About the position:
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Community Resource Worker I (CRW I) to support two residential homes in the community. One home is shared by three adult male individuals, and the other by three adult female individuals, all of whom have physical and developmental disabilities.
In this role, you will provide person-centered support that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, implementing individualized support strategies, supporting positive behavior outcomes, encouraging community inclusion, and helping individuals achieve their personal goals. You will work collaboratively with team members, families, and other professionals to provide consistent and meaningful support in a safe and respectful environment.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, patience, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, complex behavioral needs, and community-based living is considered an asset.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, 24 hours per week.
This position is shared between two residential homes. One Weekend will be in one home, and the next week will be in the other home (Rotating every weekend).
Location: Edmonton, Alberta.
What you’ll do:
· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.
· Act as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.
· Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals.
· Completion of daily documentation.
· Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.
· Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.
· Participate in on-going program development.
What you bring:
· Completion of a High School Diploma.
· Please note that applicants with a degree or diploma in Social Work from a university accredited by the Alberta College of Social Workers are required to be registered with the College (RSW) before starting or obtain registration within three months of hire.
· Six (6) months’ experience working within the Human Services field.
· Equivalencies may be considered.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Security Clearance Check, including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months).
· Emergency First Aid – Level A CPR & AED.
· A reliable vehicle and auto insurance with a minimum of $2 million liability coverage are not required but are considered assets.
· Computer/Word processing skills.
· The ability and willingness to take individuals out of the home for community inclusion.
· Ability to assist with personal care.
· Ability to assist with a wheelchair, and lifts and transfers.
· Ability to implement approved support and intervention strategies as outlined in individualized service plans.
· Desire to see individuals succeed.
