Our client, a well established civil construction firm with operations across the Lower Mainland, is seeking a Foreman to join their growing team in Surrey, BC. This individual will play a key leadership role in the field, overseeing crews and coordinating daily construction activities on underground utility and civil infrastructure projects throughout the Greater Vancouver Area.
- Lead and supervise field crews while actively participating in construction activities as required.
- Review project scope with the Superintendent and execute work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate daily manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities to maintain project schedules.
- Mentor, motivate, and develop crew members while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor site productivity, quality, and safety performance, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Schedule labour and equipment requirements in collaboration with the Superintendent.
- Review grade sheets, drawings, and project documentation to ensure work is completed accurately.
- Document site conditions, production activities, employee matters, and scope changes as required.
- Review and submit daily electronic timesheets and project reports.
- Participate in project closeout activities and ensure successful completion of assigned work scopes.
- Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reporting incidents, and participating in investigations and safety meetings.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Foreman role within civil construction.
- Strong underground sewer, watermain, or utility construction experience.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and grade information.
- Thorough understanding of civil construction methods, equipment utilization, and safety procedures.
- Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, and equipment on active construction sites.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable using mobile devices and electronic reporting systems.
- Valid driver's license.
- CSTS, Ground Disturbance, Confined Space, First Aid, Flagger Training, and WHMIS certifications are considered strong assets.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
