Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating commercial vehicles over long distances to ensure timely delivery of freight across various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operation, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks and freight vehicles over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition and report any maintenance issues
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or damage during transportation
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid CDL license preferred
- Familiarity with freight handling, loading/unloading procedures, and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Prior experience in long-haul transportation or logistics is highly desirable
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling
