Southwest Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing emergency and urgent care team. Position Overview
As an RVT in our emergency/urgent care hospital, you will play a key role in patient triage, nursing care, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, client communication, and supporting our veterinarians in delivering efficient and compassionate care.
We are currently seeking candidates who are flexible and reliable, with coverage required for overnight shifts from Friday through Monday morning.

- Overnight coverage required: Friday through Monday morning

Responsibilities
- Triage incoming emergency and urgent care patients
- Obtain and record patient histories and vital parameters
- Assist with diagnostics including bloodwork, radiographs, cytology, and in-house lab testing
- Place and maintain IV catheters
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain accurate treatment records
- Assist with emergency stabilization and critical care cases
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical/procedural cases as needed
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area
- Support overall patient flow and hospital operations
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing
- Previous emergency or urgent care experience is an asset, but not required
- Strong technical and nursing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and teamwork
