Line/Prep Cook
As Line / Prep cook, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to assist the kitchen team and uphold the highest standards in culinary excellence, kitchen organization, creative execution and consistency. You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the kitchen while maintaining Union's aesthetic and vision as directed by the Executive Chef, General Manager and CEO.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in most areas of kitchen operations, including opening and closing procedures, prep, service, menu development and consistency
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards for food quality, consistency, presentation, and aesthetic, as directed by the executive chef
- Assist in ordering and inventory of kitchen supplies, ensuring accuracy and cost control
- Assist with receiving and storage of all goods, ensuring product quality and proper FIFO rotation
- Execute dish preparation and plating to ensure consistency with recipes, specifications, and visual standards
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on the creation and testing of new seasonal dishes that align with the brand’s culinary vision and aesthetic
- Maintain daily kitchen logs and reports related to prep, inventory, next shift notes
- Ensure kitchen organisation and cleanliness meet and strive to exceed company, local, provincial and federal health, and safety standards

What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, high-end restaurant
- A deep understanding of culinary techniques, seasonal ingredients, plating aesthetics and local supplier menu creation with a focus on French bistro inspiration
- Proven ability to work as part of a team in a high-pressure environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Passion for innovation while respecting and reinforcing Union's consistency
- Food Handler Certification (required); Standard First Aid (asset)
