CARPENTERS
Parallel is a major construction contractor in Welding, Heavy Fabrication, Millwrighting, Electrical and General-Construction. We provide product and service solutions to some of North America’s largest resource-based sectors including Forestry, Mining, Aggregate, Steel Recycling, Biomass Energy and Hemp.
We are hiring experienced Carpenters to support new Warehouse (tilt up concrete construction) and Office builds in Quesnel, BC. Must have hands on experience and skill with Concrete, Framing and Drywall.
Experience in new Commercial or Industrial builds (Lumber Mills, Aggregate Plants, Mines or similar) is essential. Familiarity with millwrighting, welding and other trade processes is expected.
Candidates will possess strong problem solving and leadership skills, a professional mindset, pride in workmanship, and get it done attitude.
REQUIREMENTS
- Submit carpentry and safety tickets with resume.
- Proven carpentry experience in commercial or industrial construction.
- Proficient using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
- Familiar with the installation of different building envelopes.
- Blue-print reading skills required - with or without drawings.
- Competent with trades math and performing calculations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong focus on Safety.
- Good physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work in diverse, fast-paced environment.
- Dedicated to quality excellence with a superior work ethic.
- Must be able to work unsupervised at times.
- Must be drug free. **
- Willing to work days, nights, weekends . **
- Current Safety or Training Certificates an asset (i.e., Fall Arrest, Aerial Platform, Forklift Operator).
- Red Seal Ticket an asset.
SPECIFICS
- Adhere to all Parallel and Client Safety standards and governing regulations.
- Support new construction builds - Industrial Warehouse tilt up concrete construction and Commercial Office.
- Read and Interpret blueprints and drawings to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials.
- Construct building frameworks such as walls, floor beams, subflooring, roof systems, door frames.
- Build concrete formwork (concrete, frames, bracing) and falsework (joists, bearers, bracing, foundations and footings).
- Pour and finish concrete.
- Drywalling.
- Fit and install trim items - doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.
- Able to operate laser level, total station, and transit.
- Collaborate with millwrights, welders and other trades and maintain professional relationships.
- Maintain coordinated effort and clear communication with other trades and supervision to ensure efficient and safe operations.
