Job Posting: Shift Supervisor – Front Desk & Housekeeping
Company: Port Hardy RV Resort & Cabins
Location: Port Hardy, BC
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
About Us
Located in beautiful Port Hardy, the Port Hardy RV Resort & Cabins offers guests a welcoming, high-quality outdoor experience. We pride ourselves on exceptional guest service, impeccably clean cabins, and a well-maintained property. We are currently looking for a reliable and energetic Shift Supervisor to join our team.
The Role
As the Shift Supervisor, you will work the front desk and be the first point of contact for everyone arriving at the resort. You will set the tone for the guest experience while simultaneously leading and directing a close-knit team of 3 to 5 staff members across housekeeping and general grounds duties. This is a hands-on, dynamic role perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and loves helping both guests and their team members succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- First Point of Contact: Welcome guests upon arrival, manage check-ins and check-outs, process reservations, and answer phone inquiries with a friendly, professional attitude.
- Team Leadership: Direct, motivate, and supervise a shift team of 3 to 5 employees, ensuring daily tasks in housekeeping and property maintenance are completed efficiently.
- Hands-On & Off-Season Duties: Lead by example and jump in to assist with housekeeping duties—cleaning cabins, facilities, and common areas—alongside your team when it is busy. Please note: As this is a year-round role, you must be fully willing to transition to a mix of direct housekeeping and front desk coverage during our slower off-season months.
- Housekeeping Oversight: Inspect cabins, RV sites, and common areas to ensure they consistently meet our high cleanliness and quality standards before guest arrival.
- Retail & POS: Manage transactions for the campsite store (snacks, ice, retail items) using our dedicated POS system.
- Operational Support: Assist with property management software operations (managing guest folios and hotel collect bookings) and basic troubleshooting (e.g., guest cabin locks).
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, front desk operations, or customer service is required.
- Leadership & Team Player: Proven ability to lead and support a small team, with a "no task is beneath me" attitude when it comes to jumping into housekeeping. (Previous supervisory experience is a major asset).
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable learning and using property management systems (experience with Cloudbeds is a plus!) and retail POS systems.
- Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for cleanliness and presentation when inspecting cabins and grounds.
- Problem Solver: Calm under pressure and able to juggle a busy front desk while directing staff over a radio or in person.
What We Offer
- Competitive Compensation: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Employment-Tied Housing: A 1-bedroom suite onsite is negotiable for the right candidate. This is provided strictly as staff accommodation and is tied directly to active employment at the resort.
- Work Environment: A positive, team-oriented atmosphere in a beautiful outdoor setting.
