About Apex Sailing
Apex Sailing is a modern sailing school based in Port Stanley, Ontario focused on making sailing more accessible, welcoming, and confidence-building for everyone.
We teach on J/24 keelboats and offer beginner sailing courses, private lessons, sunset sails, couples experiences, and family adventures. Our goal is simple: help people feel comfortable and excited to get out on the water.
We’re growing quickly and looking for passionate sailing instructors and captains who love teaching, connecting with people, and creating unforgettable experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Teaching beginner sailing lessons and taking people out for rides on a J24 keepboat
- Running private sailing experiences and sunset sails
- Helping students build confidence through hands-on learning
- Creating a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment onboard
- Assisting with boat prep, maintenance, and daily operations
- Representing Apex Sailing professionally both on and off the dock
What We’re Looking For
- Sailing instruction or coaching experience
- Comfortable operating keelboats in varying conditions
- Strong communication and people skills
- Positive, patient, and calm teaching style
- Passion for introducing new people to sailing
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during peak season
- Team-oriented mindset
Preferred Certifications (not all required)
- SVOP (required)
- PCOC (required)
- First Aid / CPR (required)
- Marine radio certification (ROC-M) (required)
- Sail Canada Instructor Certification
Applicants without all certifications are still encouraged to apply if they have strong sailing experience and a great attitude.
