The Special Events Coordinator for VanPlay Stage Society is a pivotal role that balances administrative oversight with event production and strategic development. Operating under the Canada Summer Jobs program, the Coordinator will manage the essential logistics of the society’s production season, including vendor contracts, budget tracking, and general office administration to ensure organizational efficiency. A primary focus of this position is the successful execution of the annual fundraising gala, where the Coordinator will lead the charge in identifying and soliciting potential donors and corporate sponsors to secure vital financial support, while simultaneously managing the targeted cultivation of high-profile attendees and local dignitaries to elevate the event’s prestige. Parallel to these fundraising efforts, the Coordinator will spearhead the planning of the SparkLab Youth Arts Festival, implementing creative marketing strategies to drive community engagement and ensure high participation for this youth-led festival. By merging back-end administration with proactive networking and festival promotion, the Coordinator will play a vital role in expanding the society’s professional network and ensuring the long-term sustainability of its artistic programming.
