Job Summary:
The Senior QA Analyst assists in the development, coordination and execution of the plans and activities of the Langara IT QA team on a day-to-day basis; coordinates and performs comprehensive reviews of complex business and functional requirements; assists in the design, development and implementation of testing strategies, methodologies and plans; coordinates and executes reviews and testing to ensure the quality of IT deliverables including project artifacts, infrastructure components, enterprise systems, database systems, integrations, as well as the security, performance, reliability and availability of the information technology in the College; provides QA expertise and support to IT and user groups according to work performance standards set by the College.

C. Duties & Responsibilities
Under the direction of the QA Lead, the Senior QA Analyst performs a wide range of QA-related duties including, but not limited to the following. These duties require the continual exercise of initiative, creativity, and ingenuity.
Performs requirements analysis and senior quality assurance testing duties, including test estimating, building, planning, management, coordination, and execution of all types of QA testing.
Provides specialized QA expertise as input to the quality assurance of College computer system(s) and actively involved in the planning of future enhancements to system quality.
Performs reviews of complex business and functional requirements and ensures the creation of QA test plans and test cases explicitly addressing the testing and validation required for these requirements.
Represents and provides QA expertise when liaising with users, other IT groups and external communities, as required.
Prepares, coordinates, monitors, and assists in the planning and execution of User Acceptance Testing. Supports the manager in high-level user acceptance testing, reviewing and analyzing.
Develops and maintains established QA standards within all IT projects, including but not limited to delivery of detailed testing reports.
Translates requirements into test plans, test cases, and QA artifacts, as needed.
Continual contribution to the implementation, documentation, and evolution of QA procedures, methodologies, and processes.
Supports QA intermediate Analysts in complex issues when providing support to users and other IT personnel in the use of enterprise systems.
Writes technical and non-technical documentation; conducts training sessions for technical and non-technical audiences.
Under the supervision of the Product Manager, engages in business analysis and product management processes and activities.
Provides support to the intermediate QAs dealing with complexed operational issues.
Performs other related duties and/or projects as required.
E. Qualifications Required
Undergraduate degree in Computing Science or a related field.
Minimum six (6) years of recent experience performing Senior QA activities in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other business applications.
Experience working in higher education preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Proven understanding of UML and experience with at least one of the UML modeling tools.
Extensive experience developing and executing all types of test cases, including but not limited to functional, non-functional, security, performance, and integration, ensuring proper functioning of the system based on all types of requirements.
Extensive experience building and developing complex test plans to ensure adequate test coverage and proper functioning of the system.
Extensive experience estimating, building and, scheduling and executing test efforts in collaboration with the QA Lead and project managers across multiple concurrent projects.
Proven experience working in one or more of the following database platforms and tools: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL.
Proven experience planning and testing in complex enterprise environments
Experience and practical knowledge of integration testing techniques in corporate level systems, including practical knowledge of web services and web servers.
Comprehensive understanding and experience in API testing, including data mapping and data transformation.
Extensive experience with test management and defect managements tools, such as JIRA and JAMA
Experience presenting to end users what is required for UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and working with these testers to track and provide results.
Demonstrated ability to effectively:
maintain a standard of absolute confidentiality regarding information and records;
operate related equipment;
organize and prioritize work;
communicate effectively with others;
develop and maintain work relationships with others;
manage project timelines for QA efforts;
meet work performance standards set by the College.
Extensive experience related to:
systems analysis, testing techniques, estimating and planning procedures and standards;
industry best practices and associated tools for quality assurance and testing;
computer operating systems and principles;
developing and writing technical and non-technical documentation, as well as the creation of QA artifacts
Capacity to work harmoniously with others.
Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
