Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting, possess strong organizational skills, and be comfortable working with electronic medical records. This position requires a passion for patient care and the ability to work collaboratively with our team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling inquiries.
- Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing equipment and ensuring a comfortable environment.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and update patient information as necessary.
- Provide patient education regarding eye health and contact lenses.
- Manage inventory of optical supplies and assist in retail sales of eye care products.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Support pediatric patients with care tailored to their needs, ensuring a positive experience for both children and parents.
Experience
- Previous medical office experience is preferred, particularly in an optometry or ophthalmology setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
- Strong background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and effective communication skills.
- Experience in front desk operations within a healthcare environment is beneficial.
- Optical experience or knowledge of retail sales is an advantage, especially in relation to eyewear products.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
