Overview:
Our client is a well-established, publicly traded leader operating across North America within a high-growth sector. The Manager, Accounting and Reporting plays a vital role within the Corporate Finance leadership team, driving day-to-day corporate financial operations and supporting complex reporting processes. This position directly manages a small accounting team, oversees period-end deliverables, and contributes to continuous process enhancements. It idealizes a collaborative, hands-on accounting leader with strong analytical acumen and a track record of driving operational efficiency.
What you will be doing:
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a dedicated team handling core full-cycle accounting activities and corporate payables.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, including GL reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet analysis.
- Drive global intercompany balance reconciliations and streamline inter-entity accounting workflows.
- Handle accounting treatments for complex business transactions, including M&A activities and corporate tax planning.
- Evaluate financial and operational performance across multiple diverse business units to identify key operational drivers.
- Consolidate divisional financial data into working papers supporting public external reporting and MD&A documentation.
- Administer corporate equity and stock ownership programs while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate internal and external audit deliverables and maintain robust internal control standards.
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives across ERP tools, consolidation workflows, and general accounting systems.
- Collaborate on special finance projects and support interdepartmental initiatives as required.
What you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting combined with a recognized professional designation (CPA or equivalent).
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 1–2 years in a direct team management role.
- Strong background owning period-end and quarter-end close cycles, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Practical experience working with modern ERP systems, financial reporting software, and advanced spreadsheet tools.
- Proven track record of evaluating workflows and implementing process improvements that drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial insight to non-finance stakeholders.
- High degree of self-motivation, ethical standards, and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Salary/Rate Range:
- $105,000 - $110,000 plus bonus
