Overview
Sip Society and events is looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused individual to assist with serving drinks and handling customer payments at our vendor booth during the Folk on the Rocks event.
This is a temporary two-day position. The successful applicant will work approximately eight hours per day on both weekend days of the event, for a total of approximately 16 hours.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a busy outdoor festival environment, interacting with customers, handling Canadian currency, receiving cash payments, and providing accurate change.
Duties
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take drink orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and serve drinks according to provided instructions and recipes.
- Receive cash payments and provide the correct change.
- Keep track of sales and cash received.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked serving area.
- Follow proper hygiene, food-safety, and beverage-handling practices.
- Answer customers’ questions about available drinks and prices.
- Provide fast and courteous service during busy periods.
- Notify the supervisor of any cash shortages, payment issues, or customer concerns.
- Assist with setting up the booth before the event and cleaning up afterward.
- Work cooperatively with other team members throughout the festival.
Requirements
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Canadian coins and banknotes.
- Ability to count cash accurately and provide the correct change.
- Previous experience as a cashier, server, barista, event attendant, or customer-service worker is preferred.
- Ability to follow drink recipes and serving instructions.
- Friendly, honest, responsible, and dependable.
- Able to work efficiently in a busy outdoor festival environment.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be punctual and available to work on both event days.
Pay: $16.95 per hour
