Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, excellent research and negotiation skills, and the ability to handle complex legal matters with professionalism and compassion. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients’ lives by providing expert legal guidance in family-related cases, including divorce, child custody, and support issues. The Family Lawyer will be responsible for managing cases from inception through resolution, ensuring compliance with legal standards and advocating effectively for clients.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, visitation, and support cases.
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and other legal resources to build strong case strategies.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding their rights, obligations, and options.
- Prepare for court appearances by organizing case files, evidence, and legal arguments.
- Maintain detailed case records and ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with court procedures.
- Stay updated on changes in family law legislation and best practices to provide current and effective representation.
Experience
- Active license to practice with the Law Society of Ontario .
- 1 -2 years minimum experience in Family Law or previous articling experience in Family Law.
- Proven experience practicing family law with a track record of successful case management.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and compelling legal documents.
- Demonstrated research capabilities to analyze complex legal issues thoroughly.
- Experience with legal drafting tailored to family law proceedings is highly desirable.
Court Locations:
- Must have own vehicle for transportation to Court
- Court location: London, Sarnia, Hamilton Regions
Pay: $6,000.00 per month
