Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of carpentry, framing, forms and finishing work. This role requires a professional with a strong background in blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and the use of hand and power tools. As a Journeyman/woman, you will be responsible for executing complex projects with precision, ensuring safety standards are met, and delivering high-quality craftsmanship across diverse construction and restoration tasks.
Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project execution.
- Perform framing, forming, and building envelope.
- Operate hand tools, power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with construction estimating by assessing project scope and material needs.
- Execute restoration projects involving woodwork, cabinetry, or structural repairs.
- Manage heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Follow schematics and technical instructions to ensure precise installation and assembly of components.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety procedures are followed throughout each phase of work.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Journeyman/woman in construction environments.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Strong communication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Valid construction experience across multiple trades; handyman experience is advantageous.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and follow complex instructions reliably.
- Strong commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship at all times.
