Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare professional to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs. This role involves fostering developmental growth, ensuring safety, and supporting children's social and emotional well-being through structured activities and personalized care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor children during daily activities, playtime, and rest periods to ensure safety at all times
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning and play
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members regarding children's progress and needs
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care as needed
- Assist in planning and executing special events or outings that enhance the children's learning experience
- Document observations of children's development and behavior to inform ongoing care strategies
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting; classroom experience is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Bilingual abilities (English/French) are highly desirable to support diverse families
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work well under pressure with excellent time management skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Proficiency in computer skills including basic computer operation for record keeping and communication purposes
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Leadership qualities to guide children positively while fostering independence and confidence
Pay: $17.00-$24.00 per hour
