About the Client:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver for a 33-year-old woman who is quadriplegic. She is an active and engaged individual who participates in various programs, works on the computer, and enjoys spending time with her retired parents. The family values dignity, privacy, and consistency in care. They have had a trusted caregiver for four years who is now returning to school, and they are looking for someone who can provide the same level of dedicated support.

- Applying creams and administering vitamins
- Using a Hoyer lift to transfer the client from bed to wheelchair
- Assisting with teeth brushing, hair care, and putting on shoes
- Ensuring the client is comfortable and ready for her day
The routine is well-established and straightforward. The family will be present to provide guidance and support, especially during the initial training period. Once familiar with the routine, the caregiver will be able to work independently while maintaining open communication with the family.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience with mobility assistance, particularly with wheelchair users and Hoyer lift operation
- Comfort providing personal care and bathing support
- Understanding of quadriplegia care needs
- Calm, patient, and respectful demeanor
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Strong communication skills with both the client and family
- Ability to respect the client's dignity and the family's privacy
- English-speaking
The ideal caregiver will be someone who understands the importance of routine and consistency for individuals with physical disabilities. The family is looking for a long-term match who can become a trusted part of their daughter's daily life.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The family is located in Campbellford, Ontario, northeast of Peterborough. This is a consistent, recurring schedule with no weekend or evening hours required. The position is available to start as soon as the right caregiver is found, with potential for a meet-and-greet as early as this week and care beginning shortly thereafter.
