We're currently seeking Level 1, 2, and 3 Apprentices to join our growing team in Kelowna, BC. Industry experience is an asset, but not required. We're looking for individuals with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.
Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll learn to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial doors, dock equipment, gate operators, and access systems. With a strong backlog of work and continued growth, this is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career with Door Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation, service, and repair of commercial doors, dock equipment, operators, and access systems.
- Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities under the guidance of experienced technicians.
- Learn industry best practices, installation techniques, and safety standards.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on customer equipment.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Complete work orders, timekeeping, and job documentation accurately.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members.
- Apply problem-solving skills to support customer needs and job site requirements.
- Follow all company and safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in apprenticeship training and ongoing skill development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Experience in construction, installation, service, or a skilled trade is an asset.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working at heights and performing physical work.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
