Westland Insurance Group Ltd. is looking for an accomplished insurance executive to lead one of the most strategically important areas of our business. This is a hybrid role based out of our Surrey head office.
As Vice President, Personal Lines - BC, you'll be responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, and profitable growth of our Personal Lines business across British Columbia. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Distribution, you'll influence enterprise priorities, strengthen insurer partnerships, develop exceptional leaders, and drive business performance across the region.
This is more than an operational leadership role. You'll lead through complexity and change, champion operational excellence, support business transformation and acquisitions, and play a key role in advancing the future of Personal Lines at one of Canada's fastest-growing insurance brokerages.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $176,000 - $220,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual compensation will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, market conditions, and internal equity.

Why we’ll love you
- Extensive senior leadership experience within Personal Lines insurance, with a minimum of 10 years leading sales, service, and business performance in a brokerage or related environment.
- Proven success leading large, geographically dispersed teams through leaders, building accountability, engagement, and a high-performance culture.
- A strategic leadership approach with the ability to translate enterprise priorities into actionable plans while balancing business objectives, operational realities, and client outcomes.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to leverage data, insights, and sound judgment to drive performance, identify opportunities, and support continuous improvement.
- Experience leading organizational growth, business transformation, acquisitions, and change while maintaining strong employee engagement and business continuity.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships across the business, with insurer partners, and throughout the industry to influence outcomes and create long-term value.
- A passion for developing leaders, strengthening organizational capability, and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Level 3 General Insurance License preferred, or willingness to obtain based on transferable experience from an applicable business environment. Industry designations such as CIP, FCIP, CAIB, or CRM are considered assets.

- Lead the strategic direction, operational performance, and profitable growth of Westland's Personal Lines business in British Columbia, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities while delivering exceptional client outcomes.
- Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team, building organizational capability, strengthening succession, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Regional Leaders to execute business strategy, drive advisor productivity, improve operational performance, and achieve sustainable business results.
- Build and strengthen strategic relationships with insurer partners, industry associations, and key stakeholders while representing Westland in the marketplace.
- Champion initiatives that simplify operations, enhance service delivery, and improve business performance across the Personal Lines portfolio.
- Lead the operational integration of acquired businesses, ensuring seamless transitions while maintaining employee engagement, client retention, and business continuity.
- Collaborate with executive leaders across the organization to influence enterprise initiatives, solve complex business challenges, and help advance the future of Personal Lines at Westland.
- Travel as required to support leadership effectiveness, partner relationships, and business priorities.
