Summary
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team in. The Electrical Apprentice is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within the NAR operation. This role will focus heavily on the inspection, maintenance, repair, and optimization of industrial rectifier systems that support the plant’s manufacturing and finishing processes.
Working under the guidance of licensed electricians and maintenance personnel, the Electrical Apprentice will gain hands-on experience with power distribution systems, rectifiers, motors, controls, PLCs, and process equipment while progressing through their electrical apprenticeship program.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial rectifiers and associated electrical equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on rectifiers, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues and support corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Assist with the installation, modification, and commissioning of electrical equipment and plant infrastructure.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Support troubleshooting of motors, motor controls, PLCs, sensors, and automated systems.
- Conduct electrical testing using appropriate meters and diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, company standards, and safety procedures.
- Participate in planned shutdowns, emergency repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with inventory management of electrical spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
Required:
- Registered Electrical Apprentice working toward a Certificate of Qualification (309A or Industrial equivalent).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory, industrial controls, and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or metal finishing environment.
- Exposure to rectifiers, transformers, DC power systems, or power conversion equipment.
- Knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation systems.
- Experience using CMMS software.

The Electrical Apprentice plays a critical role in maintaining reliable plant operations, with a primary focus on supporting and maintaining the rectifier systems that are essential to the Chatham facility's production processes.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
