Position Summary
Forestdale is looking for a Shipping & Logistics Team Lead to oversee all shipping and receiving operations within our busy manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate is highly organized, efficient, and confident in both administrative tasks and physical work. This role requires strong communication skills, sound decision-making, and effective time management to ensure shipments are processed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
· Process all required documentation for outbound shipments and incoming materials, and enter data accurately into the ERP system.
· Schedule all sub-trades for production and follow up or expedite as needed to meet ship dates.
· Obtain shipping quotes for the Estimating team in a timely manner.
· Monitor shipment status, follow up on delays past confirmed dates, and notify the Production Manager of any changes. Track and record on-time and late shipments for reporting purposes.
· Ensure customer packaging requirements are met, prepare all orders for shipment, and update packaging work instructions in the ERP as needed.
· Ensure all shipments are packaged in way as to minimize damage to goods and ensure that good arrive at the customer in good condition, exercising judgment and good sense, parts banded sufficiently, boxes not exploding etc.
· Manage shipping claims and lost shipment processes, including all associated documentation.
· Maintain inventory levels of materials and consumables, track stock quantities, and notify Purchasing of replenishment needs.
· Schedule and coordinate truck arrivals for loading and unloading.
· Complete shipping paperwork for cross-border shipments including customs paperwork.
· Manage Daily activities of Forklift Driver provide oversight and direction on daily tasks and ensuring that shipments are being loaded correctly and in a timely manner.
· Verify counts for shipments leaving facility.
· Proactively monitor production schedule and prepare for upcoming shipments ahead of time.
· Participate in all required training and comply with company policies, procedures, reporting requirements, and safe operating practices at all times.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
KPIs:
· Maintain an on-time ship rate of 98% or greater.
· Update sub-trades daily with current production forecast.
· Keep the Shipping & Coating Smartsheet current throughout the day.
· Ensure all packing slips are received from sub-trades and that adjustments are made in the ERP as required.
Requirements:
· At least two years previous experience in a similar role.
· Forklift license (current or previous).
· Comfortable using an ERP system with 1+ years of administrative experience.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sustain physical labor throughout the workday.
· Personable, responsible, organized, and dependable.
· Reliable transportation to and from work.
· General knowledge of lean principles and lean manufacturing practices.
· Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
