A manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team. This is a permanent direct hire position. Ideal candidates will be looking for a position with long -term employment and growth potential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implements and delegates workloads throughout the Procurement Team for the purchasing of raw materials, hardware, equipment, office and operating supplies to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Plans, directs and controls program activities in accordance with MRP, Master Schedules and program review meetings.
- Provide purchasing guidance involving cost, schedules and quality within the framework of Company policies/procedures throughout every level of the Organization.
- Ensure team incorporates and negotiates changes on a timely basis for all procurement activities.
- Initiate corrective action and vendor corrective actions as required.
- Evaluate supplied proposals and implement proper contracts, sub-contracts and purchase order agreements with emphasis on quality, costs, delivery and performance.
- Select proper sources with consideration of the urgency and complexity of requirements.
- Provide the availability of flexible sources of supply, assuring maintenance of lead times, supplier accommodation to changing requirements, new material sources, realistic prices consistent with material values and product costs.
- Develop short and long range plans for all purchases involving sequential planning of dates and time for supplier quotes, competitive bids, lead times and delivery schedules.
- Investigate and resolve issues with procurement schedules, requirements and changes.
- Perform cost, price and value analysis with cross-functional teams as required.
- Ensure team prepares Requests for Quotes and Requests for Proposals to meet the needs of the organization.
- Interviews sales personnel/supplier representatives providing best value to the company.
- Participates in estimating and pricing activities, including bills of material and proposals.
- Develop production plans, priority schedules and implement change controls on manufacturing, fabrication and assembly operations.
- Analyze appropriate Internal Purchase Requests (IPR’s) and order issue requirements to meet internal and external demands.
- Determine material, parts and supplier shortages.
- Control assigned stock rooms and inventories.
- Responsible for Receiving Department and associated personnel.
- May perform other related duties as required by the company.
Responsibility Involved: Establish, plan, organize and control policies, procedures and methods within the department; maintain relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, general public; may be responsible for other employees. Monitor personnel throughout the procurement floor area.

Education / Experience Requirements:
- Equivalent 4 years high school plus completion of 2 years of post secondary education and/or PMAC or APICS or other Professional Development Associations.
- Approximately 6-10 years of related business experience
