Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role requires a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and industrial maintenance with the ability to interpret schematics and work with complex systems. The Heavy Duty Mechanic plays a crucial role in supporting production processes and ensuring safety standards are met across the facility.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using schematics and analysis skills.
- Repair or replace defective components such as motors, gearboxes, belts, and hydraulic systems.
- Utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Low Voltage systems for diagnostics and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Conduct welding
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all maintenance activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems with industrial electrician experience when required.
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring machinery is running efficiently with minimal downtime.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in industrial maintenance and manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in working with schematics, electrical diagrams, and control systems such as PLCs.
- Experience with CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and low voltage electrical systems is preferred.
- Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting with electrical experience in industrial settings.
- Excellent analysis skills to diagnose complex machinery issues quickly and accurately.
- Customer service orientation to effectively communicate with team members and support operational needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail for effective maintenance solutions.
