About the Opportunity
We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Chemical Handler to join our team at Valle Foam in Brampton, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe handling, mixing, storage, and transportation of chemicals in the foam manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, follows safety procedures diligently, and is committed to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely handle, transport, and store raw materials and chemicals in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Prepare and mix chemicals according to production requirements and established procedures.
- Accurately measure and record chemical quantities and batch information.
- Load chemicals into production equipment and monitor material levels as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of chemical storage areas, containers, and handling equipment.
- Maintain inventory records and report shortages, spills, or damaged materials.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of all chemical products and containers.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with housekeeping activities to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a chemical handling manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Experience working with hazardous materials and knowledge of WHMIS requirements.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and product specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Basic math and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with job requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
