The Host is responsible for warmly welcoming guests and efficiently guiding them to their seats, ensuring a courteous and professional first impression.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Promote food-related sales packages with thorough knowledge of offerings and availability.

Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling guest verification slips.

Coordinate with the service team to optimize table turnover and maximize cover count.

Support operations across various venues, including the restaurant, banquet rooms, waterpark, and outdoor pool deck.

Assist dining staff by seating guests, clearing tables, refilling water, and serving beverages.

Assign tables to servers using a fair and transparent approach.

Contribute to overall team success by completing related tasks as needed.

Close with an open mentality.

Keep all areas in like-new condition and website ready.
Guest

Ensure guests are greeted and acknowledged consistently, adhering to the 10/5 Rule.

Welcome patrons by exchanging pleasantries, escorting them to assigned dining areas, presenting menus, and announcing the server’s name using approved Great Wolf Lodge scripting ("showstoppers").

Protect guests and the establishment by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol service policies.

Maintain a safe and orderly queue during wait times for tables.

Stay knowledgeable about all Lodge events, including times and locations.

Communicate with guests in a professional and friendly manner.

Physical Requirements

Capable of walking, standing, bending, twisting, reaching up to and including above shoulder level, crouching/squatting, and kneeling, for the duration of your shift.

Capable of climbing multiple flights of stairs.

Dexterity of the fingers and hands with ability to squeeze hands, twist and rotate wrists and elbows.
- Capable of working in a hot, humid, chlorinated and noisy environment.

Ability to hear and speak for communication with guests.
-
Ability to pivot in the moment, multitask, prioritize and do repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Ability to walk at a fast pace for periods of time.

Ability to lift, push, pull carry up to 10lbs, including a tray in one hand.

Ability to work in outdoor climates when applicable.

Able to listen inventively and reproduce information accurately, both written, oral and/or digitally.
Additional Requirements
Newly hired Pack Members must submit a completed police clearance to Human Resources. Employment may begin before the results are received, based on the Pack Member’s confirmation that they have no unpardoned criminal convictions. If the clearance reveals a conviction, the employer may terminate employment on a case-by-case basis, providing only the minimum notice required under the Employment Standards Act, 2000, with no additional notice or compensation.
