I.T. Infrastructure Information Systems Specialist- Brampton - $75 to 85K + Full Benefits On-site
Position Summary:
Provide leadership and hands-on management of the day-to-day IT environment required to support business operations. This role ensures the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure, systems, and services across the office and plant environments.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration
- Strong knowledge of networks, servers, PCs, and mobile technologies
- Experience with cloud-hosted technologies (e.g., Azure, Citrix, RDS)
IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN infrastructure
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot switches and wireless access points
- Monitor and resolve network performance, latency, and connectivity issues
- Plan, implement, and support infrastructure upgrades and improvements
- Develop and monitor system performance standards
Systems & Application Support
- Administer and support Microsoft business environments, ERP systems, and other enterprise applications
- Provide Tier 2 user and endpoint support, including escalation as required
- Support production measurement, product costing, and inventory control systems
- Grant and revoke system access based on approved permissions and role-based access
Plant & Operational Technology Support
- Support plant IT and communication systems, including:
- Scanners, scales, and label printers
- Surveillance cameras and access control systems
- Time and attendance systems
- Ensure coverage for critical systems during planned and unplanned absences, including traceability and surveillance systems
Security, Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure security of data, networks, and backup systems
- Apply security best practices such as MFA, least-privilege access, and role-based security
- Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and procedures
- Continuously improve and document IT policies and procedures
Vendor & Partner Management
- Liaise with external IT partners and service providers
- Review and approve supplier invoices in accordance with contractual agreements
Training & Continuity
- Train and develop backup resources to ensure coverage during absences, including:
- Plant communication infrastructure support
- Production measurement, costing, and inventory system support
Ideal QualificationsEducation & Certifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, or similar
Experience & Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration
- Strong knowledge of networks, servers, PCs, and mobile technologies
- Experience with cloud-hosted technologies (e.g., Azure, Citrix, RDS)
- Familiarity with ERP systems is considered an asset
- Demonstrated project management experience
