Behavior Interventionist (BI) Position Available
About the learner:We are looking for a BI to join our school team for a bright, cheerful 9-year-old boy diagnosed with autism. He is verbal, enjoys reading, and has a strong interest in sea animals and dinosaurs. Current goals focus on increasing his ability to complete less-preferred academic tasks and building confidence and independence with early academic concepts (particularly math) through evidence-based behavioural strategies.
Approximate Work Location: his home (Richmond, ~12 mins walk away from King George Park)Hours/Days: (After school hours (past 3pm) and weekends preferred)Wage: $20-$35/Hr (Depending on experience and qualifications)Qualifications:
- A strong understanding of basic grade 1-5 maths is required
- A background in a related field such as childcare, psychology or behavioral science, applied behavior analysis is a strong asset (Highly Preferred)
- Experience with BI work and children with disabilities (Preferred)
- Minimum 19 years of age
- Clear criminal record check completed within last 12 months or willing to obtain one
- Commitment for at least 1 yearWe are looking for a fun creative and patient applicant who is comfortable with running in-person sessions in the home environment. Wage is based on experience.
