Evertrust Development Group Inc. is involved in real estate development, construction and related business operations in Ontario. Our legal work includes active civil disputes, construction and property issues, contract enforcement, development-related claims, condominium matters and other commercial files.
We are looking for a lawyer who can assist with practical dispute management, organize facts and evidence, prepare strong legal materials and support management with clear, business-oriented legal advice.
Role Summary
The Civil Litigation Lawyer will support ongoing litigation and dispute resolution matters involving property, construction, development, enforcement and commercial issues. The role requires hands-on Ontario civil litigation experience and the ability to move files forward efficiently in a business environment.
The successful candidate should be comfortable reviewing records, identifying litigation risks, preparing court documents, coordinating procedural steps and communicating with internal stakeholders, external counsel and other parties as required.
The assigned office location may be within Ontario, including Markham or Muskoka, based on company needs and operational requirements.
Key Duties
- · Review new and existing dispute files and identify key legal, evidentiary and procedural issues.
- · Prepare and revise litigation documents, including pleadings, affidavits, motion materials, factums, demand letters, settlement documents, legal correspondence and supporting records.
- · Assist with civil procedure steps such as motions, applications, discoveries, mediations, settlement discussions, hearings and enforcement-related processes.
- · Provide practical advice on litigation strategy, risk exposure, evidence, procedural timelines, enforcement options and possible resolution approaches.
- · Work with management, project teams and internal departments to gather facts, organize documents, review records and maintain progress on active matters.
- · Communicate with external counsel, experts, consultants, opposing counsel and other third parties when needed.
- · Maintain or assist with carriage of multiple active files while keeping a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, professionalism and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- · LL.B. or J.D. from a recognized law school.
- · Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- · Hands-on Ontario civil litigation experience is required.
- · Experience drafting, reviewing or assisting with court materials in contested matters.
- · Good working knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure.
- · Strong legal research, drafting, advocacy, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- · Ability to manage competing deadlines, work independently and provide practical legal advice to business stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- · Civil litigation involving commercial, construction, real estate, property or contract disputes.
- · Exposure to condominium disputes, development-related claims, lien matters, mortgage enforcement, power of sale, contract enforcement or other dispute-related files.
- · Experience working with a business client, real estate developer, construction company or in a legal department is an asset, but not required.
- Compensation and Employment Terms
- · Salary range: $60,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience.
- · Full-time, permanent employment.
- · Opportunity to work on active civil disputes with direct exposure to management and business decision-making.
Work Location
This is an in-person position. The assigned work location may be within Ontario, including Markham or Muskoka, depending on company needs.

Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
