ABLE Engineering Services Inc. ("ABLE") is a versatile, experienced, multi-disciplinary engineering firm that works on a wide range of projects. We excel in civil and structural engineering, surveying, and the design of infrastructure systems for commercial, residential, governmental, and industrial projects.
We are seeking a CAD Designer to join our team from either our South Shore (Chester), Metro (Upper Tantallon), or Valley (New Minas) location. The successful candidate will support our engineering team by preparing technical drawings and design layouts for a wide range of projects, from residential engineering through to provincial and federal project work
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed CAD drawings based on engineering specifications and project requirements
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure accuracy and feasibility of designs
- Modify and update drawings as needed throughout project phases
- Maintain organized digital files of all CAD work for easy access and revision
- Assist in preparing documentation for project submissions
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned by the department head
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field
- Proven experience as a CAD Designer or similar role within an engineering environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant CAD software
- Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles, preferably including on-site sewage treatment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations
