Position Overview
As a Junior Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately quoting upcoming scaffolding projects and preparing detailed material lists for our on-site crews. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from industry veterans and grow your career in estimating and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Quoting: Review project blueprints, architectural drawings, and site specifications to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for scaffolding jobs.
- Material Take-offs: Compile comprehensive, precise material lists to ensure site staff have exactly what they need for safe and efficient mobilization.
- Client & Vendor Communication: Assist in clarifying project scopes with clients and sourcing specialized material pricing when necessary.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, sales teams, and site supervisors to ensure a seamless transition from the bidding phase to project execution.
- Database Maintenance: Update and maintain estimating software, historical cost data, and tracking spreadsheets.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in construction estimating, drafting, or hands-on scaffolding/trades experience (preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate).
- Education: Educational background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field is a strong asset.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and structural plans.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel). Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff) or CAD is a major plus.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong math skills, excellent time management, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
